Advanced Tournament 7/8 August
The winner was Stephen Wright from the Eynsham club, with five wins from seven games.
It was a strong field: of the 11 entries seven were minus players, with visitors from as far apart as Beverley, Chester and Taunton Deane. The problem of having an odd number was resolved as Nick Evans was unavoidably detained on Saturday, which began with Bryan Harral arriving early to finish the mowing.
At the end of the first day Nick Steiner, manager Rod Ashwell and Stephen Wright were level on three wins, Nick completing a triple peel against Richard Smith, with Annabel McDiarmid and David Marsh on two wins each.
