About Us

We are a private club established for our members to play and enjoy the game of croquet.

Located in central Bedfordshire in the UK, approximately 50 miles north of London, with good road connections from both the M1 and A1, we are well placed to serve members in any of the surrounding counties of Beds, Bucks, Herts and Northants.

Croquet is a great sport, and our club provides an environment to enjoy it both socially and competitively. For new members, we offer all the equipment, coaching, and playing facilities you’ll need to get going. For more experienced players we offer the chance to play competitively, both at home and representing the club outside.

We are an unincorporated body and a small committee of members manages all the club’s activities and facilities.

Membership

Members pay an annual membership fee which we aim to keep as low as possible, with volunteer members carrying out the vast majority of our admin and maintenance work. It has often been remarked that our membership fees compare very favourably against those of other private sports clubs.

Details of how to become a member of our club can be found on the Membership page.

Croquet Organisations

The club is a member of the East Anglian Croquet Federation, which coordinates clubs in the region, and organises leagues, development and coaching throughout the Eastern counties of England (Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire).

We’re also a member club of Croquet England (formerly The Croquet Association), which is the governing body for croquet throughout England and Wales.

Dog Policy

The club’s policy on whether dogs are permitted to attend tournaments held at our site can be found here.
