Club Activities

The club caters for players of any standard and both Association and Golf croquet are played. New members are always welcome and coaching is available for beginners. Club members do all the mowing and regular lawn maintenance.

Social play

Members can play at any time on weekdays and at weekends. You can reserve a court for play using the Court Booking System. There is a weekly “roll up” session on Wednesday mornings when any member can turn up without prior arrangement and be paired up for a friendly game of Golf Croquet. The club also hosts croquet evenings for local groups or companies.

Competitive play

For members who would like the challenge of playing as more than just as a social activity, the club runs several tournaments each year which are open to any member of Croquet England. It enters teams in regional leagues organised by the East Anglian Croquet Federation and also the national competitions run by Croquet England.

Internal club competitions

There are a number of internal AC and GC club competitions, both one day events and two-life knockout events that run throughout the main season (April to October). The details of the various competitions can be found on the Internal Club Competitions page and the draws are published in April. If it is early in the season when you first join the club and you want to take part in one of the competitions please contact the Secretary (see the Contacts page).

Towards the end of each year, we organise an annual lunch or dinner for members at which the club competition winners are presented with their prizes.

A list of previous winners of the various club competitions can be found on the Archive page.
