The club is in the grounds of Wrest Park, an English Heritage owned property to the east of Silsoe village, in central Bedfordshire, approximately 50 miles north of London. The postcode for Wrest Park is MK45 4HR.
Unfortunately, at the moment Google Maps does not identify our club separately from the rest of Wrest Park (we have asked Google to add it), but in the satellite view map below, if you look east from the Silsoe village name, our lawns are in the small green right-angled triangle just to the east of the yellow A6 road.
For a precise location, the What3Words code for the middle of our car park (perhaps as a warning not to eat too much Battenberg cake after a match!) is:
///overdrive.enough.marzipan
Driving directions
Silsoe village is just west of the A6, slightly south of the roundabout junction of the A6 and A507 at Clophill, halfway between Bedford and Luton. The village can be accessed from the A6 which itself bypasses the village and runs under the driveway leading to Wrest Park.
From A6 driving north: Leave the A6 at the small roundabout with a left turn signposted Silsoe and head into the village.
From A6 driving south: After the roundabout at Clophill you will pass a Jet petrol station on the right and the road will then become a dual carriageway. You will see a brown English Heritage sign for Wrest Park pointing straight on. For the shortest route, ignore this and instead follow the sign for Silsoe – you must move into the right-hand lane as you crest the hill in order to turn right across the dual carriageway. Having taken this turn, the road will lead you directly into the village.
Whether you have approached from the north or south, the entrance to the Wrest Park is the turning just north of the church. (Approaching from the north you will turn left; from the south you will turn right.)

Follow the drive through the entrance gateway and across the bridge over the A6.
Immediately after crossing the bridge, turn left onto the narrow track, just before the start of the tree-lined avenue.

Drive along the track with the football pitches to your right (please take care to avoid any potholes) and you will see the pavilion in front of you. Park next to the pavilion and please do not park on the grass next to the football pitches. If the car park is full, a club member will direct you to the overflow parking area.
Occasionally English Heritage might stage a major event in the grounds and the playing field may be roped off. In these circumstances please use the public car parking area as directed by the event stewards.
Take care when leaving, as the view when turning right from the track back onto the drive is slightly restricted.
If you want to visit the club as a prospective member then contact the Secretary – see the Contacts page.
If you just want to see croquet being played then come on a weekend when a tournament is taking place. The dates can be found on the Diary page
