GC B level tournament 17 May

At last we had a tournament played in sunshine.  The 16 competitors were in four blocks. In Block A, Peter Tofield and Alexander Lake came though with three and two wins respectively.  Block B was much closer with Bernie Phillips having a perfect morning whilst Jane Powell, Peter Adams and Andrea Widdison all had one win each, with hoop difference on -1, -3 and -4, so Jane progressed to the quarter finals. Block C was won by Colin Spencer, closely followed by Richard Skidmore. Again Block D was closely fought with Judith Pengelly coming top followed by Izzy Poyntz.

The quarterfinals were hard fought with Colin Spencer coming through to play Peter Tofield along with Bernie Phillips playing Alexander Lake in the semis. The final was between Bernie and Peter.  In a close match,  Bernie just managed to get the better of Peter, 7-4

The plate was won by Richard Sanville defeating Michael Tideswell 7-5.
